You didn’t know this about Campbell S Green Bean Casserole

I make this casserole for the holidays every year - but. Years ago when the green bean casserole first became popular this is the soup that was used -then it was changed to cream of mushroom. The “correct” way to make Campbell’s Green Bean Casserole is, of course, to use Campbell’s brand Condensed Cream of Mushroom soup and French’s brand Original French Fried Onions.

Well, I have to say that my uncle really messed up our Thanksgiving by trying to show off his culinary skills and instead of bringing the Green Bean Casserole he was assigned , he went all gourmet and made some other green bean dish which nobody appreciated or ate.

One year I tried to slice frozen green beans down in to French sliced - too time consuming and absolutely frustrating!

Assemble the ingredients: 3/4 cup whole milk, 1/8 tsp. Sometimes green beans are called string beans. Most likely they are the same vegetable - but there could be a chance that what you’re calling string beans is different from what I’m calling green beans.

For a change of pace, substitute 4 cups cooked broccoli flowerets for the green beans.

For a heartier mushroom flavor, substitute Campbell’s Condensed Golden Mushroom Soup for Cream of Mushroom Soup.

I also use the cambells cream of mushroom, but i like to ad mushrooms, shallots and frozen grean beans.

Sprinkle with 1 small tomato, chopped and 1/8 tsp.

Substitute half and half for the milk and omit the soy sauce and you have the way we make it.

As we proceed farther south, there will be even fewer opportunities for pre-processed foods which is actually a good thing, but, as I said, I’d really like to make this casserole.
