Hamill is one of my favorite fighters, but I’m not at all sure that he is ready for Rich Franklin.

Franklin is just all around so much more experienced and that is what has been tough for Hamill. I really don’t think Hamill is going to be able to handle Rich’s striking game and also his speed.

Good match up, Im not sure how Hamill will deal with Richs standup, on the other hand Im not sure what Rich will be able to do againt Matts wrestling and ground and pound.
Interesting matchup. Hamill might be the stronger fighter but Rich has far more experience and alot better stand up then matt’s.
Win, lose, or draw, gassing is the least likely thing for Franklin to worry about.

Franklins take down defence is good although hamill is a good wreslter, i think that they are both of equal strength” and sould be a good match up, but franklins experience and stand up should show in this fight giving him a second round tko nd hopefully a meeting with hendo.
Franklin better keep this fight standing and Hamill better take it to the ground. Someone was saying that Franklin never gasses, but in the Lutter fight he did look pretty spent and it was only the second round.

Franklin last competed at 205 pounds at The Ultimate Fighter 1 Finale in April 2005. Worth noting is that Franklin and Hamill are both prominent sponsored athletes of American Fighter.
This is a great fight for both of these guys. Hamill needs to avoid standing and banging with Franklin, and needs to take him down and dominate him, try to win by GnP.

I wouldn’t call Hamill one of the best fighters in the UFC right yet. The only other time he fought at 205 was against Shamrock who was washed up by then.
Rich is no stranger to fighting at 205 this will be nothing new for him. I do agree the Rich will win and just because he fights at 185 and is a beast hes jumping up to a more comfortable weight and he still is gonna be one of the bigger fights even if its just every once in awhile.
Let Rich, Vera, and Silva get their feet under them in 205 then throw wand or t Silva at them.”
Rich will be a hell of a lot stronger and won’t have any trouble cutting for this fight. Rich will overwhelm him with power,punches and stuffing his takedown attempts”and therefore; Rich by Technical Knockout or Knockout in the 1st round.
Wow never expected this fight. Should be an easy fight for Rich if he can keep Matt from laying on him for three rounds.

Not to mention Rich is also a brown belt and now training with Matt Hume. He is a good fighter but he should of denied the win or something cause matt won the first 2 rounds and bisping might of won the last one.Thats probably the worst decision ever.
Matt Hamil has a tendency to keep his hands low. He loses that advantage at LHW, and making things worse, he’s fighting someone that is supposedly insanely strong.
I think Franklin may look better at 205, he cuts a lot of weight to make 185. I think Hendo should have a “tune up” fight and then fight Franklin.
I think we will see a different, stronger and faster Franklin on this one. silva losses.

Rich should have no problem with this fight, but that is weird for him to be going to 205 as well with Anderson. He can win fights on the feet now, instead of just winning with his wrestling.

I decided to go back and do the same and my opinion, Hamill round 1, Bisping without question round 2 and Hamill round 3.
A lot of critics said they went back and watched the Bisping vs Hamill without commentary and if you really paid attention and watched which punches landed you could make an arguement that Bisping took rounds 2 and 3.
If Hamill could fight Bisping so tough, I wouldn’t count him out against Franklin. Remember Hamill’s toughness on Ultimate Fighter, he had to leave because he refused to submit and hurt his shoulder/arm in the process.
Franklin has better striking, submissions and has more experience, but Hamill is incredibly strong and has awesome wrestling.
I am giving the edge to franklin. The ref will stand them up and franklin will win with strikes.
Again, just my thought, Franklin could very well dominate him, but I’m a huge Hamill fan.
Franklin is in another class.however, props to the UFC for, once again, doing a great job of promotion and making me think twice about my prediction.
