Rhona Mitra is an actress that isn’t a house hold name by any means but she has alot of talent which unfortunately is often over shadowed by her good looks.
Fanboys know her best as the body of Laura Croft.
When she was 19 she was scanned and her body used for the video game and she also did a stint dressing up as the iconic character and attending events.
Underworld 3 will be Rhona’s second role as an ass kicking beauty and she says its not so much that she is attracted to the roles or seeks them out but that they come to her.
When you can emulate the all-time sexiest video game character to a tee, you are blessed with qualities most women do not possess.
The skintight suits sported for her Tomb Raider stint are incredible, to say the least. In a word, Rhona Mitra is stacked; proud owner of all the coveted traits.
Rise of the Lycans is actually a prequel to the two preceding films. While Beckinsale will be absent from the new film, Mitra is not taking over her role as Selene. Rather, the ballsy Brit with play Sonja, who is a secret lover of Lucian (Michael Sheen), a powerful leader of the werewolf clan that rises up against the Viktor (Bill Nighy), the vampire king.
Since the film takes place in the Dark Ages, unlike the two before it, it seems natural that Mitra and crew are sporting armor this time around. Much of the cast of the previous two films will return in their same roles.
Not returning, however, is director Len Wiseman, who is also Kate Beckinsale’s husband. Wiseman is still involved in a limited capacity, but newcomer and long-time production designer Patrick Tatopoulos will helm the film.
Tatopoulos had a hand in the special effects and creature design for the previous Underworld films, along with many others in the sci-fi/horror space, including Pitch Black, The Cave and Silent Hill. That’s not a bad resume, but it still leaves his ability to direct in question. What do you think? Does Mitra look like a solid addition?
Mitra furthers her presence in the horror/sci-fi/action space exponentially through her lead role in Doomsday. Marshall’s flick will certainly give the seductress volumes of credibility; enough, it seems, for her to take over the title role in the next installment of the Underworld series, Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans.
Most recall the latex-lovin’ vampire, Selene, played by Kate Beckinsale in the previous two films. Well, Beckinsale won’t be returning for the third time, partly because Rise of the Lycans will be a prequel to the overall story and, as one could imagine, her career has grown a bit outward from the sci-fi genre, what with her recent roles in Click, Vacancy and Snow Angels.
Former “Boston Legal” actress Rhona Mitra will star in “The Boy in the Box”, a thriller about the remains of a mummified boy discovered that shocks a small town.
Mitra will play the wife of the town’s police chief (to be played by Jon Hamm). The discovery of the mysterious boy, murdered more than half a century before, brings back the wife’s long buried emotions about losing her own son eight years previously.
Her next movie to appear in theaters will be “Doomsday”, a sci-fi actioner that comes out in May of next year.
