Peninsula Nations
The Republic of Korea was established in 1948 and its Government was recognized by the United Nations through General Assembly resolution 195.
Throughout this vast expanse of time, God was dealing with “the nations”.
I would like to express hereby the viewpoint of the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea with regard to the fact that one permanent member of the United Nations Security Council has started a diplomatic negotiation to bring before the Security Council the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula.
When the Korean War broke out in June 1950, the United Nations intervened, under Security Council resolution 82, by sending armed forces to repel the Communists’ aggression.
Twenty-one Arabic-speaking countries are spread across North Africa, the Central Middle East and the Arabian Peninsula.
It is the stand of the government of the DPRK that bilateral, tripartite and multilateral or any other forms of talks proposed by the concerned parties and other countries concerned should be held in an appropriate order.
The firm pledge of the Republic of Korea to bring peace to the Korean Peninsula has recently materialized with the first inter-Korean summit that took place in June 2000.

Since the armistice of 1953, the Korean issue had been one of the most controversial subjects of debate between the western and pro-Soviet blocks at the United Nations.

This is a violation of paragraph 10, article one of the armistice agreement which stipulates that the demilitarized zone be controlled by the Korean People’s Army and the U.S. Army.
