Norm Mcdonald

Dennis Miller- Might be a douchebag, but is the gold standard for this job. His ascerbic style and arcane references brought a new type of intelligence to topical humor. The Daily Show was built off of the blueprint left by Miller. Plus, A. Whitney Brown was a commentator during Miller time. Makes you wonder why SNL doesn’t hire some political comic to bring some intelligence to the Update today. 3

This show was so great. From what Ive heard there were like 6 shows that never made the air due to the awful decision to cut this show. Networks do not give shows a chance these days. 6

A native of Ottawa, Canada, Norm started out as a stand-up comedian. He would later move to Los Angeles where he began writing for the hit sitcom ‘Roseanne.’ In 1994, Norm took over the ‘Weekend Update’ job on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. As the anchor of ‘The Fake New,’ Norm began to be a well known SNL regular. Don Ohlmeyer, an NBC fat cat decided for some reason that Norm wasn’t funny enough for him anymore. Ultimately, Norm was fired, but got sweet, sweet revenge when he achieved even greater success. His feature film, ‘Dirty Work’ was a hit, he hilariously voiced Eddie Murphy’s dog in ‘Dr. Doolittle,’ and a sitcom, ‘The Norm Show,’ spawned as Norm’s career blossomed. 2

Norm Macdonald- During his peak was the funniest anchor in SNL history. Frank Stallone and David Hasselhoff were beautiful names in Macdonald’s world, while CRACKWHORE turned out to be the funniest punchline to any joke. Simpson were enough to put him 2nd of this list. 4

McDonald is terribly miscast in this unfunny show, and it’s readily apparent that he’s not in his element here. There’s nothing wrong with this type of comedy show per se, it’s just that you have to have the right comedian to pull it off. Bob Newhart was an expert at playing the only sane character in a cast of crazy people; he was successful at doing so in two separate shows. 10

Dirty Work is a great movie. Norm’s best delivery is when he’s talking to the blonde girl and her boss yells at her from across the street and he says “Who’s THAT dude?” So so great. 8

Norm talks about coveting a married woman when he was younger. Adam says it was “a naughty rush!!” Is it true Elle McPherson had a crush on him? No, of course not, she was way out of his league! The rumor around town is that Ann Coulter has a crush on Norm!! 7

Norm MacDonald as the sane one, not the smarta$$ + small town eccentric “Newhart” rejects + WAYYY too many cheese jokes = sitcom disaster. Fox has officially killed this show. On behalf of everyone who lives in Wisconsin, thank you, Fox. 9

It stands on its own and really, the only tie in is the Stiffler name. To forewarn you, within minutes of the beginning, a solo sexual embarkment concludes with a young lad ejaculating on his parents and grandmother, and yes, they show “it”. 5
