I thought Florida was a Republican state, yet the Q poll is pretty much insisting that a Florida is trending from Obama to McCain. I don’t know why the LA Times continues to use the Q poll only to make a case, when there are several other polls showing that not only has Obama taking control of theses states when McCain at one time held the lead, but is actually expanding his lead. Example: McCain consistantly held the lead in Florida until just this last month when a couple of polls showed that Obama has taken the lead.

I agree with Ohio, the speech does read better than he delived it. I look for his handlers to keep OUT of debates (like he ducked Hillary after his last bad showing) and only debate when absolutely has to.

McCain sounded like a frightened child. This whole speech is defensive in character (explaining why he’s not running for Bush’s third term), awkward and just feels old.

McCain’s speech got interrupted to talk about Obama. Obama has managed to hit McCain on the very themes of McCain’s speech, a mere hour after McCain rambled through them.

If there was any doubt of that, tonight’s speech proved it. Bush is doing a dandy job just got thrown to the wolves by John McCain in a speech that even Fox News panned.

McCain supporters should be embarrassed by this speech tonight for any number of reasons.

Obama and Clinton are Broadway to McCain’s 6th grade school play. Compare McCain’s sleepy, awkward sentences and forced grins to Obama’s dramatic speaking style.

Compare the venue — McCain’s was small and sleepy, Obama’s is huge and energized.

John McCain’s delivery was simply dreadful, and the ringers in the crowd looked lost.

John McCain knew it all along. It was speeches like this that convinced Republican voters in 2000 that John McCain would not be as good a president as George W. He plans to “Stay the course” and follow the same blue print the Bush administration has: Use the federal government to make money for your cronies that work in Big Oil, Big Bankning, and Big Defense Contractors.

The delivery and deliverer were so bad, McCain deserves to spend at least a few nights in the stables with the horses and cows. McCain isn’t subtle enough to walk the line that would attract both the rabid base and indies at the same time.

No wonder McCain won’t talk to our adversaries — he can’t get a sentence out.

He will hit McCain with a man’s punch.
