Komen Denver Race for the Cure 2008!
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
Race organizers believe that the Denver event will net more than $3 million for breast cancer research, education, treatment and screening programs.
Race Day: Register on Race Day from 6 a.m – 9 a.m.

On Sunday, September 21, hundreds of breast cancer survivors, advocates, community leaders, health care professionals and decision makers gathered at the zoo to raise awareness about breast cancer and discuss closing the health care gap in Colorado.

This year, with the help of Caruso Kitchens, the Race is helping pledge earners “pay it forward” to themselves and those in need in the community.
With funds raised by the Komen Race for the Cure Series, the Komen organization with its Affiliate Network is able to fund breast cancer research grants, meritorious awards and community outreach programs.

Charity Navigator, a leading independent charity evaluator, has awarded Susan G. Komen for the Cure a four out of four star rating.
The Affiliate continually strives to meet this mission through three core activities — education, fundraising and grant making.
A two-time breast cancer survivor, Maya is currently dealing with lymphedema and undergoing physical therapy.
About 75 percent of the net money raised by the Race is given back to the Denver metro area in the form of grants to area not-for-profits who provide breast health and breast cancer education and screening and treatment programs.
