As our nation grapples with these and other energy-related concerns, Citizens Energy is tracking numerous studies, commentaries, and analyses of a variety of energy issues and subjects.
CEO Radio with Ray Hoffman of the Wall Street Journal is a program originated by WCBS Newsradio 880 in New York City.
Similar to our work on charitable programs, Citizens Energy also creates innovative and profitable business ventures in industries that meet life’s basic needs from renewable energy to health care.
We will accept applications for assistance beginning December 3, 2007 through February 29, 2008.
But America also imports vast quantities of energy sources – primarily oil and natural gas – from other countries.
And without access to reliable, affordable energy, our businesses and industries cannot produce the goods and services that form the backbone of the largest and strongest economy on the planet.
With heating oil prices still soaring, it could cost as much as $4,000 this winter to stay warm.
The energy sources we develop and use during the next few decades, as well as how much energy we use, will largely determine whether our nation is able to address critical problems like global warming, climate change, and energy security.
Yet fuel assistance benefits remain inadequate, reaching only one out of five eligible recipients while soaring energy costs now swallow up 20% of the budget of our poorest families.
Four decades of broadcasting New York tri-state area news, New York tri-state area traffic, and New York tri-state area weather and backed by the global resources of CBS News, WCBS always has the edge on breaking news and the day’s essentials.
Through a partnership with CITGO, we provide home heating oil to low-income families, homeless shelters, and Native American tribes in 16 states.
From the energy we need to power our homes, appliances, and vehicles to the energy we need to keep us warm during the winter and cool during the summer, access to reliable, affordable energy is fundamental to our quality of life.
