This isn’t the original birth certificate, it’s a document to prove that Obama was born in Hawaii, issued recently by the State.
Obama’s mother was an American. One thing I do find interesting about this copy of “Barack Hussein Obama II” birth certificate is there is no “Offical Seal” embossed into the document , like every other Official Hawaiin birth certificate I have seen. Anyhow, when I got married I had to prove that my name was legally changed on my birth certificate to my new middle name and I got the EXACT same green birth certificate as shown for Barack Obama, but my certificate no. Barack Obama’s copy of his birth certificate is just as valid as a birth certificate of anyone else that gets a copy of theirs from the city they were born in.
Looks like this Birth certificate stuff might have some legs. To those who believe the birth certificate for Barack Obama is not real because of the modern computerized typeface: Most localities no longer make “copies” of birth certificates, marriage certificates and so on. The birth certificate IS probably not the original birth certificate Obama’s parents were issued.
Old news. I love all of the authoritarian drivel in regards to the authenticity of the birth certificate that is posted here as being a digital copy of the true birth certificate of Barack Obama.

A “Certificate of Live Birth” as presented here is NOT the actual birth certificate.
A hospital birth certificate, on the other hand, is not an official record of birth, only a souvenir as far as most agencies are concerned.
Birth Certificate documents might have change since the 60’s but they still have signatures and seals for each State. could halt all of the wondering regarding his birth certificate by simply obtaining a certified paper copy of his birth certificate from the State of Hawaii and pass it out.
I didn’t have my original birth certificate when I had to get my driver’s license, so I sent for a duplicate from the state.
Please, I was born in 1960 in NY and my birth certificate looks nothing like this.
I would like to see another original 1961 Hawaii birth certificate side by side for comparison. I was born in 1974, but I have a copy of my birth certificate that was issued by the city of Bangor in 200 I couldn’t produce an orginal Birth certificate if I had to. I have no doubt that what the campaign posted is an officiall certificate that was made electronically by Hawaii’s department of birth certificates, and the campaign really got it from Hawaii’s department of birth certificates. Our birth certificates do not just “wear out”; I have real copies of my grandparents birth certificates that can be read just fine.
